This DVD player was quite an experience for me as it’s completely feature-packed and with so much to offer, I wanted to test out the many different ways this player can work.  The OPPO 1080p offers extremely good image quality when outputting movies that I had on hand.  It has DivX/Xvid support, too, so you won’t find yourself having to convert movies in order to view them on your TV.

The player utilizes the 7.1 Channel audio with Dolby Digital Surround EX decoding, which means you will feel like you are in the middle of the movie and your speakers will bring you each delicate sound as it was meant to be heard.  You can also use the USB 2.0 for external gadgets that you store photos or videos on, and a slide show that uses the resolution of your HDTV to show your photos off to others.

And, to deliver you the best quality, the player uses HDMI for a crisp look and sound.  Delivering high-quality video and audio without the hassle of multiple cables, this is one feature I was quite impressed with.  I certainly recommend you look at the features on the OPPO site, I could only outline my favorites here, and the pricing of the OPPO is incredibly competitive, in fact I feel that it performs on the higher range and is priced with the lower ranged products, which makes it really shine!

For a flashy yet useful GPS system you need to look at the Dash Express.  Utilizing neat plug-ins like MyDash, allows you to customize your experience with the GPS system so that you get what you need at your fingertips.

With two-way connectivity, Dash taps into Yahoo! Local search, among other choices, and allows you to find the location of almost anything.  Most GPS systems come pre-loaded with static locations marked up but you can customize what you are looking for with this setup.

Dash Express also will work to get all the information off the Dash Driver Network and match it up with other sources of data to give you the most up-to-date and accurate feel for what’s coming up ahead as you drive.  Traffic conditions can rapidly change and the Dash will let you know quickly so you can re-route.

This also has a neat feature called Send2Car that allows you or someone you contact to send an address straight to your Dash from any computer.  Two-way connectivity certainly makes this product stand out from the rest.

Reviewing the VIBE Duo noise-isolating dual-use headphone/headset has been a joy for me, because I love music and I love good sound.  The fact that they also include a microphone that you can utilize for taking calls and control your music functions with your iPhone, hands-free, makes them even more of a treasure.

I was further impressed with the choice to design this set with fabric cables (think less tangles and longer use) and the nice touch of having them colored red for the upcoming holiday.

Valentine’s gifts can be hard to come up with, and red is a color many use to symbolize that the gift they are giving to that special someone is out of love.  They also use neat names like Gunmetal Rouge (to match the new green and Red Special Edition iPod nano and shuffle being released) and Midnight Blue, and this calls out to my gadget-loving side.

Sanyo is known for leading the way in technologies that are fun and lend a hand at keeping family memories.  I’ve seen many digital cameras but the specs. of this model really impress me.

The Sanyo Xacti HD1000 weighs a light 9.5 oz. and is only around 16.6 cu. in. so this model really will be a smaller and lighter version of what you have seen.  Not only that, but Sanyo also packed it full of good features like the high-speed image processing engine (for full HD data), ergonomic design, low power consumption and a great 2.7″ display to view your video as you shoot it.

Our batteries should last longer and Panasonic has decided to prove this point by  making a longer lasting AA battery called EVOLTA.  Panasonic entered the EVOLTA battery into the Guinness Book of World Records and claim the longest lasting AA battery cell category.

They were recognized as such based on data obtained from discharge tests that were conducted on these EVOLTA batteries by Panasonic.  A change in the battery structure and other materials has made this an innovation we all could benefit from, considering all our lovely gadgets and gizmos happen to need power to keep them going.

Panasonic announces that the alkaline batteries will be good for both low and high current drain applications.  This could really up the ante for other companies to improve their products.  Will the batteries cost more?  Only about $5.40 for a 4-pack, not much more than competitors.  You’ll see this battery available later this year in the US.
